Author Bio

Writers write what they know. What does Amber know?  A lot. Her life has been strange and difficult in unusual ways; this is reflected in her writing. She has outlined over thirty books in a variety of fiction genres, but also writes nonfiction, and creative nonfiction.  She explores universal themes that are almost always intriguing to everyone: love, violence, fear, hate, forgiveness, genius, the meaning of life,  and insanity, oh always insanity!

Amber began writing creatively around 1999, when she decided that being a corporate lawyer was just not who she was or ever wanted to be.  Despite a huge law school debt , she decided that she would some how, some way leave corporate America and  pursue a career as a writer (as crazy as that sounds!) She began that whole writer thing by entering contests, sending off query letters, articles, short stories, and getting rejected for all of them (although some times nicely).  Because she knew so little about writing as a profession, she decided to go back to school to pursue a Masters in English from George Mason University. She graduated in 2004 and shortly thereafter, began teaching English 101 at Northern Virginia Community College (Woodbridge campus). She had such a good time she knew that her stint in the corporate world had come to an end.  She quit her day job on a hope and a prayer and soon finished her first novel, the Diamond Life Book One: The Lacey Chase. Amber believes everyone should live their true dreams and never look back!

Amber grew up on the edge of one the most impoverished neighborhoods in inner city Cleveland, but attended the very prestigious Hathaway Brown School for Girls in Shaker Heights, Ohio where she learned, not for school, but for life (Non Scholae Sed Vitae Discimus). She currently resides in Northern, Virginia with her husband and three sons. Amber writes about domestic violence in order to inform, educate and heal. This writing is very important to Amber because she is a childhood domestic violence survivor.
